Elective Surgery

Although our core work is trauma and emergency general surgery, our specialist general surgeons also provide our patients with an elective general surgery service. Our principles of dedicated, consultant led, patient centred care are carried in to our elective practices and you will be provided with the highest standards of professional care and exceptional clinical expertise.

We provide care for patients requiring the management or treatment of a wide range of general surgical conditions. The service is free of charge for Medicare eligible patients and is the only bulk billed general surgical outpatient clinic in the South West Sydney Local Health District.

We provide care for a number of surgical problems including but not limited to:

  • Hernia Surgery
Our specialists are able to provide you with surgical options if you have a hernia. We offer both laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and open surgery depending on your clinical situation and type of hernia.
  • Gallbladder Surgery
Our specialists will happily discuss a range of management options regarding gallbladder problems including gallbladder removal surgery.
  • Gastrointestinal Surgery
We consult on a range of gastrointestinal problems and surgical options for abdominal conditions and can either offer surgical care or refer to another specialist depending on your clinical situation and care needs.
  • Lipomas and Cyst Surgery
Our specialists are able to discuss options regarding surgery for various “lumps”, “tumours” or “cysts”. Depending on the type of problem and location of the lesion, our specialists may offer excision of the lesion as part of the management.
  • Skin Lesion Excision
Our surgeons do not perform skin lesion excision for cosmetic purposes.
  • Pilonidal sinus, Perianal Fistula and Haemorrhoid Surgery
Depending on your condition, our specialists may provide consultation and discuss treatment options.
  • Breast Surgery
Dr D’Amours provides consultation for patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer or breast lesions that require surgical excision.

If you, your family or your patient require further review in our clinic, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

If you are a GP wishing to refer your patient to our services, please follow the information on the “make a referral page”.

We look forward to providing you, your family, or your patient with professional specialist review and the care you need.
